Telehealth is a growing field that is quickly affecting the practices of psychotherapists, counselors, medical professionals, and coaches - whether the professionals actively seek it out or not. With the complexity of digital record-keeping, remaining HIPAA-compliant in an era where many technology platforms do not specify whether they qualify, and being in a culture where clients and patients increasingly expect instant distance access to their therapists, it is easy to become confused or intimidated.
