David Van Nuys, Ph.D.

David Van Nuys, Ph.D. is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Sonoma State University, where he also served as department chair for many years. He has practiced as a licensed psychologist in New Hampshire and as both a licensed psychologist and marriage & family therapist in California. For several years, Dr. Van Nuys was on the Board of APA Div. 32. He received his doctoral training in clinical psychology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Van Nuys has published scores of articles in both scholarly and popular periodicals and is co-author of the 2001 book, This Is The Zodiac Speaking: Into The Mind Of A Serial Killer. In addition, Dr. Van Nuys hosts two Internet Radio shows (www.ShrinkRapRadio.com and www.WiseCounselPodcast.com) on which he interviews luminaries from the broad world of psychology, psychotherapy, psychiatry, and so on. He has listeners in more than 50 countries and is a member of Phi Beta Delta, the honorary society of international educators. Dr. Van Nuys is also president of a market research consulting firm (www.e-FocusGroups.com) and blogs for Psychology Today.
