This 8-module basic EMDR training will include everything you need to know to begin using EMDR effectively with your clients. Throughout this immersive training, participants will learn the intricacies of EMDR therapy, gaining invaluable insights and practical skills to effectively address trauma and promote healing in their clients.
Participants begin the training by exploring foundational EMDR framework elements, discussing treatment goals, and homing in on the history-taking phase and preparation phases of EMDR. Through experiential exercises and case studies, participants will learn essential techniques for preparing clients for the therapeutic journey, ensuring readiness and resilience for the processing phases ahead.
Practice portions will be integrated into the sessions.  As part of the practice sessions, participants will spend one-on-one time guiding one another through the core processing phases of EMDR therapy, which include assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, and closure. Opportunities abound to work alongside other mental health professionals in a mock client/practitioner relationship with the goal of promoting adaptive processing and integration of traumatic memories. Participants find the hands-on approach key to building confidence in applying EMDR skills in clinical settings.
The last sessions of the training centers on the final re-evaluation phase, reflecting on progress and addressing residual trauma symptoms. Throughout the 8-module training program, participants will not only acquire practical skills and theoretical knowledge but also cultivate a deeper understanding of trauma-informed care and the transformative power of EMDR therapy. Introduction to Deconstructing Anxiety

According to a recent meta-analysis completed by the Canadian Psychological Association, the success rate for treating various anxiety disorders is only 46%.  What are we missing?
Behind all anxiety, lies a one of 5 core fears around “universal themes of loss”–that we all share, including:
<ul style="font-weight: 400;">
<li>abandonment (loss of love),</li>
<li>loss of identity,</li>
<li>loss of meaning,</li>
<li>loss of purpose and</li>
<li>fear of death.</li>
</ul>
We develop our primary defenses, usually early in childhood or at times of trauma, as our best attempt to protect ourselves from these fears, but always at too great a cost.  This leaves us constantly holding vigil, on the lookout for the resurfacing of the fear.  We build our entire personality upon this fear-defense dynamic.  When it spins out of control, an anxiety disorder develops.
This webinar, appropriate for all levels, presents an overview of the Deconstructing Anxiety model, a new, evidence-based approach to understanding and treating anxiety.  Incorporating psychodynamics, mindfulness, Gestalt, CBT and transpersonal psychology, Dr. Pressman will introduce unique exercises that enable us to pinpoint the precise mechanism by which the core fear is adopted and reverse its effects.  Doing so not only resolves the initial problem but provides a clear roadmap to what the Deconstructing Anxiety model calls &#8220;Fulfillment&#8221;&#8211;a restoration of an original sense of wholeness and completion that brings meaning and purpose to our lives.
