Psychotherapy ~ Teaching ~ Lecturing ~ Consulting ~ Critique of Therapy
By Dr. Ofer Zur
This page introduces you to Dr. Zur's consulting services as well as information about his Philosophy of Treatment, Psychotherapy and Counseling Services, Teaching, Books and Articles.
Dr. Zur has been highly critical of the fields of psychiatry, psychotherapy and counseling. He has been a vocal critic of the Diagnostic Manual used by therapists, the danger of Risk Management practices, and the rigidity of psychotherapists in regard to issues of Non-Sexual Touch, Gifts, Bartering, and most notably, Dual Relationships. His concerns about the state of the field of mental health has led him to develop a brochure titled, How To Choose A Therapist, and a summary guide on how to avoid the hazards of managed-care. Last, but not least, Dr. Zur has been a vocal critic of the way that many mental health practitioners, while pretending to heal and do good, in fact, have been part of the "Victim Industry." As expected, his article on Culture of Victims has been highly controversial.
