If you have signed up in the past for the previous 12 CE Credit certification program, which included only the first three courses, and want to upgrade to the new (above) 18 CE Credit certification, which includes the fourth course, Psychology of the Internet and Online Gaming for 6 CE Credits:
This four-course program offers a total of 18 CE units and a comprehensive look at Internet Addiction and Psychology of the Web, including special courses on Cybersex and Internet and Adolescents. Field leader Dr. Kimberly Young's 4 CE unit course Internet Addiction provides an in-depth exploration of how Internet Addiction develops and what can be done about it. Dr. Young's second course in this certification package is Cybersex Addiction & Internet Infidelity, which explores this critical topic in detail. Understanding fidelity and sexuality in the context of the digital age is crucial for treating couples in this day and age. The certification continues with a third course from Dr. Young, also for 4 CE units, on Internet and Adolescents: Whose Space is MySpace? Parents, teachers and practitioners can benefit greatly from understanding digital natives' relationship to technology and space ownership therein. Young people carve out space for themselves on and with the mediums they grow up on – which for natives, means blogs and social networking sites. Finally, Dr. Ofer Zur and his digital native daughter, Azzia Zur, offer a 6 CE unit course on Psychology of the Internet & Online Gaming: Parent-child digital divide and Internet and online gaming use, abuse and addiction which covers the digital divide among generations, psychology of Internet use and the function of online gaming – which, surprisingly to some, has much to offer in terms of education. Put together, these four courses are a fantastic in-depth orientation to the digital age and its unique challenges of addiction and offerings of stimulation, networking and connection.
Upon completion of the four courses, you will receive, via the mail, a hard copy and ready-to-be framed certificate of completion for your course of study, "Internet Addiction and Psychology of the Web."
