The Zur Institute is committed to help people live fully and healthily. Our view of health is broad and inclusive. Unlike most medical professionals our conceptualization of health is not defined by the absence of illness but is rather holistic and inclusive.
This page introduces our approach to health and healing, providing you with resources to many subjects that are essential for healthy living. These include, love, vocation-calling, affairs & infidelity, parenting, dealing with the media and our ever-increasing pace of life.
This page also introduces you to Dr. Zur’s consulting services. You can find information about his Philosophy of Treatment, Psychotherapy and Counseling Services, Teaching, Books and Articles. Dr. Zur has been highly critical of the fields of psychiatry, psychotherapy and counseling. He has been a vocal critic of the Diagnostic Manual used by therapists, the danger of Risk Management practices, and the rigidity of psychotherapists in regard to issues of Non-Sexual Touch, Gifts, Bartering, and most notably, Dual Relationships. His concerns about the state of the field of mental health has led him to develop a brochure titled, How To Choose A Therapist, and a summary guide on how to avoid the hazards of managed-care. Last, but not least, Dr. Zur has been a vocal critic of the way that many mental health practitioners, while pretending to heal and do good, in fact, have been part of the “Victim Industry.” As expected, his article on Culture of Victims has been highly controversial.
