Dr. Zur has been highly critical of the fields of psychiatry, psychotherapy and counseling. He has been a vocal critic of the Diagnostic Manual used by therapists, the danger of Risk Management practices, and the rigidity of psychotherapists in regard to issues of Non-Sexual Touch, Gifts, Bartering, and most notably, Dual Relationships. His concerns about the state of the field of mental health has led him to develop a brochure titled, How To Choose A Therapist, and a summary guide on how to avoid the hazards of managed-care. Last, but not least, Dr. Zur has been a vocal critic of the way that many mental health practitioners, while pretending to heal and do good, in fact, have been part of the “Victim Industry.” As expected, his article on Culture of Victims has been highly controversial.

Dr. Zur's Definition of Health:
Health is a life lived intentionally, morally and well, with personal meaning, connection to other people, and thoughtful attention to one's body-mind-spirit as well as to one's community and the world. Additionally, acceptance of what is, love, compassion, and coming to terms with our sense of mortality are extremely important aspects of healthy living.
Health living often relies on finding balance in our lives between:
- high speed and low speed
- acceleration and stillness
- drive and acceptance
- watching online trading and watching sunsets
- individual needs and community needs
- virtual and face to face communication
- surfing the Internet and the Inner-net.
