CE Requirements for Illinois Substance Abuse Counselor

How many CE units does Illinois require?

CRADC, CSADC, CAADC: 40 hours every 2 years.

Additional Information

1 hour sexual harrassment prevention. All 40 hours must be recognized by ICB or petitioned for ICB CEUs. Counselor 1: 15 hours specific to AOD. Counselor II: 25 hours specific to knowledge and skills/Performance Domains related to the Core Functions of AOD counselors, but does not have to be AOD specific. CSADCs, CAADCs: 6 of the 25 hours needed for Category II must be training received in how to provide clinical supervision. 15 hours online allowed.
