Throughout this immersive training, participants will learn the intricacies of EMDR therapy, gaining invaluable insights and practical skills to effectively address trauma and promote healing in their clients.
Participants begin the training by exploring foundational EMDR framework elements, discussing treatment goals, and homing in on the history-taking phase and preparation phases of EMDR. Through experiential exercises and case studies, participants will learn essential techniques for preparing clients for the therapeutic journey, ensuring readiness and resilience for the processing phases ahead.
Practice portions will be integrated into the sessions.  As part of the practice sessions, participants will spend one-on-one time guiding one another through the core processing phases of EMDR therapy, which include assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, and closure. Opportunities abound to work alongside other mental health professionals in a mock client/practitioner relationship with the goal of promoting adaptive processing and integration of traumatic memories. Participants find the hands-on approach key to building confidence in applying EMDR skills in clinical settings.
The last sessions of the training centers on the final re-evaluation phase, reflecting on progress and addressing residual trauma symptoms. Throughout the 8-module training program, participants will not only acquire practical skills and theoretical knowledge but also cultivate a deeper understanding of trauma-informed care and the transformative power of EMDR therapy.
