DESCRIPTION: Diminished desire and difficulty orgasming with a partner are the two most common concerns women bring to practitioners. Too often women report feeling they are the cause of these problems and are somehow “broken”, not recognizing the roles that culture, medical, and relational factors play. Furthermore, while many women feel challenged by these concerns, it is often only revealed to clinicians when directly asked. Yet, many clinicians have never received adequate training in assessing or dealing with these matters.
In this follow-up to her previous webinar, Dr. Mintz will help participants better understand the cultural reasons for the high prevalence of these sexual problems among women. You will also become versed in the myriad medical, individual, and relational causes underlying both concerns. Most importantly, evidence-based treatments for both concerns will be presented. You will leave this webinar able to assess, normalize, and intervene with these common issues.

Dr. Laurie Mintz is a professor, author, speaker, and therapist. As an Emeritus Professor at the University of Florida, she teaches the Psychology of Human Sexuality to hundreds of undergraduate students each year. She has published over 50 research articles and six chapters in academic books. She is the author of two popular press books-both written with the aim of empowering women sexually and both with published studies demonstrating their effectiveness: Becoming Cliterate: Why Orgasm Equality Matters and How to Get It (HarperOne, 2017) and A Tired Woman’s Guide to Passionate Sex: Reclaim Your Desire and Reignite Your Relationship (Adams Media, 2009). With this same goal of providing scientifically-accurate, sex-positive information to enhance female pleasure, Dr. Mintz writes a popular Psychology Today blog and gives presentations and workshops to professionals and lay audiences, including a recent TEDx talk. For over 30 years, Dr. Mintz has also maintained a private practice, working with both individuals and couples on general and sexual issues. Dr. Mintz has received numerous professional and teaching awards. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, indicating that her work has had a positive national influence on the field of psychology.

To be eligible for Live CE credits, you must be logged in the entire time. Entry to the webinar will be closed 5 minutes after the scheduled start time.
This webinar will be hosted through Zoom. Upon registration, participants will be emailed a link directly from Zoom. Additionally, the link will be available in your Zur Institute account, which you can use or you simply log into your Zur account and enter the webinar from the My Webinars section of your account.
The webinar will open 10 minutes prior to start time. It is recommended that you join early to give yourself time to troubleshoot potential connection problems.

Course completion requirements: After the webinar if you attended the entire webinar you will have access to the course in your My Courses. If you did not attend the entire webinar you will have access to the course withing 3-5 days when the video is uploaded to the course. You will be notified by email when the recording is ready.
In order to receive Live CE credit hours, you must attend the entire webinar and then complete the post webinar test and evaluation within 30 days of the end of the webinar.
If you pay and either miss part of the webinar or are unable to attend: Don’t worry. You can still obtain CE credits (though not Live) by viewing the recording and taking the post-test and evaluation. You will receive an email notification when the recording is ready for viewing, no later than 5 days after the webinar is over. You have 3 years to complete a home-study course. Our Live Webinars are live and include ample opportunity to interact with the presenters. They qualify as in-person continuing education in most states. Each state has its own requirements for licensure, including continuing education requirements, to maintain licensure. Questions about CE requirements for state licensure should be directed to your state board.

CE credits for psychologists outside of New York state will be provided by Sacramento Center for Psychotherapy. Sacramento Center for Psychotherapy is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Sacramento Center for Psychotherapy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
CE credits for all other professions including New York licensed psychologists, will be provided by Zur Institute.

Social Workers: Zur Institute, provider #1113, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
