Covid 19: What We Should Be Saying Right Now
If we open our browser, an onslaught of Covid 19 articles comes flying at us like a flock of birds. Some articles describe new developments, new outbreaks, new protests, and new political responses. And some articles tell us what we should be doing, what needs to be done, what should have already been done.
Probably, we are tired of hearing it all. Like when we have suffered a great loss, our head spins, we feel dizzy, weak all over, and the words simply fall on deaf ears. But those around us may also just not know what to say.
So here are six things to say to anyone who is affected by Covid 19 – which is, well everyone:
- I am so sorry for the situation we are in.
- I may not have the words but know that I care.
- I am here to help in any way that I can.
- I am thinking of you.
- I am right here; all you have to do is pick up the phone.
- I am here for you.
It is the hope of us all that the situation soon changes, that we can soon reclaim our lives, and return to the familiar. Yet, for now, here we are, together, in the midst of a pandemic. And while we don’t know how long this situation will last, we can come together to support one another.
