Dr. Alexandra Kutnick is a licensed clinical psychologist, author, and educator specializing in trauma, illness, and identity. She is the founder of Morningside Counseling and Assessment and serves as Adjunct Faculty at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Kutnick’s clinical and teaching work focus on complex trauma, the psychological aftermath of illness, addiction, and major life transitions such as matrescence. She provides clinical supervision and consultation to therapists seeking to deepen their trauma-informed and integrative practice.
A graduate of New York University, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Kutnick completed a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and advanced training at the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture. She has published and presented nationally on trauma, illness, and adaptation, and has also written on stepmotherhood and the complexity of blended family dynamics. She is currently authoring a book on the psychological impact of illness.
