Glenn Marks, Ph.D., MBA, Director of the Zur Institute.
Glenn Marks, Ph.D., MBA, is the Director of the Zur Institute, where he is responsible for the Institute’s continuing education program and its content. A clinical psychologist with 30+ years of experience across hospital, military, government, and academic settings, Dr. Marks leads the clinical team that develops, reviews, and updates the Institute’s 130+ CE courses, and he personally authors courses on telemental health, digital ethics, psychopharmacology, and clinical practice.
Dr. Marks earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Iowa with a dual emphasis in neuropsychology and health psychology.
He spent much of his early career as a staff psychologist in the Carondelet Health system, working in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Across his clinical career he has provided treatment and evaluation in public and for-profit hospitals and served the Veterans Administration, the U.S. Department of Defense, the State of Arizona, and the University of Arizona.
At Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Dr. Marks oversaw the traumatic brain injury (TBI) treatment center, where he and his team developed protocols for the evaluation and treatment of mild TBI in active-duty service members returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. That work with veterans and service members informs the Institute’s courses on PTSD, TBI, and military-connected clients to this day.
Dr. Marks has held numerous positions in local and state professional organizations, including serving as President of the Southern Arizona Psychological Association. He has presented at professional conferences and as an invited speaker on memory and cognition, motivation, mind-body approaches to health, and the neuroscience of behavior.
Dr. Marks went on to complete an Executive MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, after which he consulted for organizations in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, including mission-driven institutions. This dual training in clinical psychology and organizational leadership shapes how he runs the Institute: with a clinician’s standards and an operator’s discipline.
Dr. Marks became Director of the Zur Institute in 2020, succeeding founder Ofer Zur, Ph.D., who established the Institute in 1995 and led it for twenty-five years.
