About the Author

Michael Donner, Ph.D.

Michael B. Donner, Ph.D., is a psychoanalyst and clinical and forensic psychologist in Oakland, California. Dr. Donner is also a Past-Chair of the California Psychological Association (CPA) Ethics committee as well as Past-Chair of the Division of Clinical and Professional Practice, Past-Chair of the CPA Division 1 Section on Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. He served for 10 years as the Chair of the Professional Affairs Committee of the Alameda County Psychological Association. He teaches, publishes and consults on legal and ethical issues for mental health professionals in California and across the Country.

He is also the immediate Past-President of the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis (SFCP), a Past-Chair of the SFCP Faculty and past-member of the SFCP Ethics and Impairment Committee.
