Brenton Wright, MD
Brenton Wright, MD is a board-certified neurologist. He completed his neurology residency and movement disorders fellowship at Columbia University under Dr. Stanley Fahn. He was Assistant Professor of Neurology at Washington University in St. Louis, and then Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurosciences at UC San Diego before joining The Neurology Center of Southern California in 2023 as a hospital neurologist. While at UC San Diego he was Director of the movement disorders fellowship program. He has extensive experience with clinical trials and has published numerous research articles. Dr. Wright is also the Medical Advisory Director for the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego.
Joanne Hamilton, PhD
Dr. Hamilton is a clinical psychologist who specializes in the neuropsychology. Dr. Hamilton focuses on diseases that affect older individuals such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and stroke. She is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Hamilton is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Eric Egli, PhD
Eric Egli received a PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Minnesota. In Minnesota he provided hospital based mental health care and worked as faculty of a family medicine residency. Dr. Egli later moved to California to work at Kaiser as a behavioral medicine specialist. In that role he collaborated with neurologists and other specialists to help patients and their families cope with the physical and psychological consequences of various disorders including Parkinson’s disease. He retired from Kaiser in 2016 and maintained a private practice in Auburn until November 2022. He was on the board of the Parkinson’s Association of Northern California from 2019 to 2023 and continues his involvement with the Parkinson’s community.
Sherrie Gould, NP
Sherrie Gould, NP is a Movement Disorders Nurse Practitioner at the Scripps Movement Disorders Center in La Jolla, CA., is currently a sub investigator working on a research project using induced pluripotent stem cell technology as a treatment for Parkinson’s Disease, and is Chair of the Certification Board at AMDAPP, The Association of Movement Disorder Advanced Practice Providers.
Her passion is empowering people with Parkinson’s to set lofty goals and consequently has lead hiking trips around the globe with people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones. Treks have included Kilimanjaro, base camp of Everest, Machu Picchu, Camino de Santiago in Spain and the Dolomite mountains in Italy in 2022. The year 2024 will bring a Camino trek on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Japan. All climbs are fundraisers for the Parkinson’s community and for research in this field.
Adriana Gonzalez
Adriana Gonzalez is a graduate of San Diego State University obtaining her master’s degree in social work and is licensed in the state of California. As the social worker at the Parkinson and other Movement Disorders Center at the University of California, San Diego Adriana works with her team to meet the changing needs of people living with Parkinson’s disease. As part of her work at the center she has collaborated with community organizations to provide education about Parkinson’s Disease to audiences locally, nationally and internationally. Adriana is a strong advocate for supporting patients in maintaining their quality of life throughout their journey from diagnosis to advancing disease.
