With the growing diversity of clients seeking mental health care, there is a pressing need to improve the cultural sensitivity of therapeutic interventions, particularly for Arab Americans as a minority group. The Arab American community is a culturally diverse ethnic group that has received relatively little attention in academic and clinical literature compared to other ethnic groups in the United States. This webinar will provide an overview of Arab populations, focusing on their ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. It will also explore the impact of both actual and perceived experiences of discrimination and prejudice on the mental health of Arab clients. The webinar will offer clinical recommendations for culturally sensitive treatment strategies to support clinicians working with this population.
