In this context, Dr. Klonsky will present his Three-Step-Theory of suicide. The theory offers an explanation for suicide that is evidence-based, concise, widely applicable, and actionable. Practice portions will be integrated into the sessions.  As part of the practice sessions, participants will spend one-on-one time guiding one another through the core processing phases of EMDR therapy, which include assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, and closure. Opportunities abound to work alongside other mental health professionals in a mock client/practitioner relationship with the goal of promoting adaptive processing and integration of traumatic memories. Participants find the hands-on approach key to building confidence in applying EMDR skills in clinical settings.
The last sessions of the training centers on the final re-evaluation phase, reflecting on progress and addressing residual trauma symptoms. Throughout the 8-module training program, participants will not only acquire practical skills and theoretical knowledge but also cultivate a deeper understanding of trauma-informed care and the transformative power of EMDR therapy. According to a recent meta-analysis completed by the Canadian Psychological Association, the success rate for treating various anxiety disorders is only 46%.  What are we missing?
Behind all anxiety, lies a one of 5 core fears around “universal themes of loss”–that we all share, including:
