Seems as if hardly a day goes by anymore without AI being mentioned. Is this simply a marketing ploy or is this a trend that is going to revolutionize mental health services?
The answer is Yes!
While much of what is noted is not in actuality AI, per se, the technology is advancing so rapidly that it is no longer a question of if, but rather when, we will all be using some form of AI driven services.
This beginning level webinar is designed to take some of the mystique out of AI and break down concepts for those who are not technically inclined. We’ll begin by clarifying terminology such as AI, machine learning, big data, bots and algorithms and discussing how these are used in everyday applications.
Next, we will discuss how emerging technologies are being applied in the mental health fields to diagnose, predict, and treat a variety of conditions. Included will be a brief discussion of how AI driven tech can simplify professionals’ lives (hopefully) and enhance therapeutic outcomes.
Using real world examples and current applications, we’ll briefly dive into possibilities that will markedly change how mental health services are delivered.

Glenn Marks obtained his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Iowa with a dual emphasis in neuro and health psychology. After completing his internship at the Tucson VA, Glenn spent much of his early career working as a staff psychologist in the Carondelet Health system in the departments of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Throughout his clinical work, Glenn completed treatment and evaluations of over 10000 clients through his work in both public and for profit hospitals, the Southern Arizona Veterans Administration, the military, the State of Arizona and the University of Arizona. He served as the first polytrauma psychologist at the Tucson Veteran’s Administration, and oversaw the first TBI treatment center at Ft Huachuca, AZ, where he and his team developed protocols for evaluation and treatment of mTBI for active duty military returning from the Iraqi and Afghani wars.
In addition to his clinical work, Glenn served in numerous positions on both the local and state professional organizations including as president of the Southern Arizona Psychological Association.
Driven by a desire to facilitate more productive work environments, Glenn obtained an executive MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, following which he moved to the San Francisco Bay area where he is focusing on facilitating more engaged and psychologically healthy workplaces. This webinar will be hosted through Zoom. Upon registration, participants will be emailed a link directly from Zoom. The webinar will open 10 minutes prior to start time. It is recommended that you join early to give yourself time to troubleshoot potential connection problems.

Course completion requirements: After the webinar if you attended the entire webinar you will have access to the course in your My Courses. If you did not attend the entire webinar you will have access to the course within 3-5 days when the video is uploaded to the course. You will be notified by email when the recording is ready.
In order to receive Live CE credit hours, you must attend the entire webinar and then complete the post webinar test and evaluation within 30 days of the end of the webinar.
If you pay and either miss part of the webinar or are unable to attend: Don’t worry. You can still obtain CE credits (though not Live) by viewing the recording and taking the post-test and evaluation. You will receive an email notification when the recording is ready for viewing, no later than 5 days after the webinar is over. You have 3 years to complete a home-study course.
