DESCRIPTION: Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach developed by Richard Schwartz, Ph.D that views a person as composed of various “parts” or sub-personalities, each with its own perspectives, memories, and roles. These parts can be thought of as an internal family, with some parts taking on managerial roles to protect the individual, while others hold onto pain and trauma. The core concept in IFS is the “Self,” which is seen as the compassionate, calm, and wise center of a person. The aim of IFS therapy is to foster a healthier relationship between the Self and the parts, promoting understanding and healing.
In this upcoming, live interactive webinar, you will learn an introduction to the model of Internal Family Systems. This will include an overview of the framework of this model, the basic assumptions of IFS, and the goals of IFS therapy. A demonstration of certain aspects of the model will be included.

Megan Salar, MSW, ACADC, is an EMDR Clinician, Trainer and Author who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University in 2011. She has been extensively been trained on the use of EMDR and other trauma based interventions and specializes in the areas of trauma, abuse, attachment and substance abuse. Megan has trained thousands of clinicians across the U.S. as well as internationally to get the most out of EMDR, trauma and addiction based skills and practices.
Megan previously owned/operated an intensive outpatient treatment center that was voted best in practice in 2019. She currently owns and operates her own Coaching, Consulting, and Training Business and is passionate about genuinely changing the landscape of mental health and trauma treatment through an authentic hands on perspective that is uniquely her own.

CE credits for psychologists outside of New York state will be provided by Sacramento Center for Psychotherapy. Sacramento Center for Psychotherapy is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Sacramento Center for Psychotherapy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
CE credits for all other professions including New York licensed psychologists, will be provided by Zur Institute.

Social Workers: Zur Institute, provider #1113, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Zur Institute maintains responsibility for these courses. ACE provider approval period: 6/1/2024-6/1/2027.
