Julia DiFilippo earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and her B.A. in Psychology with a Concentration in Neuroscience, Magna Cum Laude, from Williams College in Williamstown, MA. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center where she specialized in serious mental illness, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and neuropsychological assessment. In addition, she completed her graduate assistantship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University Counseling Service at Case Western Reserve University, where she provided psychotherapy and walk-in/crisis intervention, coordinated the psychological and neuropsychological testing program, and collaborated with psychology faculty on research publications. Throughout her training, Dr. DiFilippo sought exposure to various theoretical orientations and client populations ranging from preschool to older adults. Dr. DiFilippo has been a licensed psychologist in Ohio since 2005 and has authored a dozen journal articles and book chapters, mainly on the topics of attachment theory, anxiety, depression, and suicide. She has served as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy since 2002, a Consultant to the Journal of Clinical Psychology since 2009, and a Consulting Editor for Assessment since 2010. Dr. DiFilippo works as a consultant to Zur Institute to develop new content and update existing content for continuing education and certificate programs for mental health professionals.
